Redfin listing video workflow

How to add video to a Redfin listing

Choose the supported medium first: Redfin's current Agent FAQ names YouTube links for video and Matterport scans for 3D media. Submit the link through the MLS virtual-media section or Redfin Customer Service, then inspect the live listing.

Current short answer: Redfin's Agent FAQ, updated February 20, 2026, says Redfin displays Matterport 3D scans and YouTube links. Add the appropriate link to the virtual-media section of the local MLS, or contact Redfin Customer Service and ask them to add it. There is no separate Redfin agent dashboard for this workflow.

1. Choose video or interactive 3D media

Redfin groups “3D/Video tour” in one support question, but a linear YouTube video and a Matterport 3D scan do different jobs. Choose the viewer task before selecting a field or link.

Choose the Redfin media by viewer job
Viewer jobSupported medium named by RedfinWhat it does not prove
Understand a guided property story in a fixed sequenceYouTube listing videoContinuous access to every room or interactive spatial navigation
Explore a captured property model interactivelyMatterport 3D scanAn agent-directed narrative, campaign edit, or live showing
Ask questions while an agent moves through the propertySeparate live video-chat tour workflowPermanent prerecorded listing media

The video vs. virtual tour guide helps decide whether the campaign needs a guided story, self-directed inspection aid, live conversation, or a deliberate combination. Do not label a photo montage as an interactive tour.

2. Confirm the public listing record

Redfin says active-listing data comes from the MLS and public records. Before diagnosing the video, confirm that the correct listing is already public and eligible to display on Redfin.

Redfin's current FAQ says an active listing can be missing when the MLS IDX/Show on the internet field is set to no. Field names vary, so ask the local MLS for the actual public-display control rather than copying that wording into an unfamiliar system.

3. Prepare a supported media link

For a linear listing video, the current Redfin FAQ names a YouTube link. For 3D media, it names a Matterport scan. It does not describe direct MP4 upload, Vimeo, a generic property page, or every 3D provider as equivalent.

Use the real estate video hosting guide to set the YouTube visibility and account ownership deliberately. A public or link-accessible media page is still public enough to be copied and reshared; it is not a confidential review room.

4. Review identity, rights, and facts

Redfin's FAQ identifies supported link types, not the complete branding and compliance rule for every MLS feed. Review the exact local virtual-media field and the entire public destination.

The branded vs. unbranded guide treats the host page and audio as part of the review. A clean thumbnail does not cure a branded end screen or promotional channel destination.

5. Submit through the MLS or Redfin support

Redfin's current FAQ provides two routes for a supported media link:

  1. MLS route: add the YouTube or Matterport link to the local MLS virtual-media section. Use the MLS's current field, link, host, identity, and distribution instructions.
  2. Support route: contact Redfin Customer Service and ask them to add the supported link to the correct listing.

Do not add the URL to public remarks unless the local listing rules explicitly call for that use. A dedicated media field carries different data and may be the only supported feed path. If a media provider is submitting on the agent's behalf, record its authorized access, exact field, link, and completion evidence.

6. Inspect the live buyer experience

A saved MLS field or support reply is not the final deliverable. Open the public Redfin page and confirm that a buyer can find and use the intended media.

7. Troubleshoot the actual data path

Redfin's FAQ advises checking other MLS-powered sites when listing images disagree and contacting the MLS when multiple sites share the same error. The same source-isolation idea is useful for media, but use the actual media field and support responses as evidence rather than assuming photos and video share identical processing.

8. Maintain and close out the placement

YouTube and Matterport links can stay live after the represented property or listing changes. Define the update rule before publication so an old URL does not silently outlive its approval.

Create a guided property story for the supported video path

Westby turns available photos and verified facts from an active public listing into a cinematic video preview. If the approved campaign uses Redfin's current YouTube path, prepare the correct clean or branded version, host it under the responsible account, and complete the MLS or support submission and live verification separately.

Important limit: Westby does not create a Matterport scan, upload a video to YouTube, edit the MLS, contact Redfin, or guarantee that a listing or link will be displayed. It creates a video asset from existing listing media; the agent owns publishing eligibility and review.

Frequently asked questions

How do I add a video tour to a Redfin listing?

Redfin's Agent FAQ, updated February 20, 2026, says Redfin displays YouTube links and Matterport 3D scans. Add the supported link to the virtual-media section of the MLS, or contact Redfin Customer Service and ask them to add it. Verify the correct public property page after submission.

Can I upload an MP4 directly to Redfin?

Redfin's current Agent FAQ names YouTube links and Matterport 3D scans rather than a direct MP4 upload for non-Redfin agents. Host a linear listing video on YouTube or use a supported Matterport link, then follow the MLS virtual-media or Redfin support path. Recheck the current FAQ before delivery.

Do non-Redfin agents have a Redfin agent dashboard?

Redfin's current Agent FAQ says it does not offer a separate agent login. It says Redfin receives active-listing data from the MLS and directs agents to update the MLS for listing changes. The same FAQ provides Customer Service as an alternative path for adding a supported 3D or video-tour link.

Why is my listing video not showing on Redfin?

Check that the listing is public on Redfin, the MLS IDX or internet-display setting is enabled, the correct supported YouTube or Matterport link is saved in the intended virtual-media field, and the link works while signed out. If the MLS record is correct but Redfin is not, contact Redfin Customer Service with the listing URL, MLS fact sheet, media URL, screenshots, and timestamps.

Should a Redfin video be branded or unbranded?

Use the rule for the exact MLS field and feed. The Redfin FAQ identifies supported hosts but does not replace local MLS branding rules. Inspect the complete YouTube page or Matterport experience, not only the media itself, and have the responsible agent or broker approve identity, rights, listing facts, and the public destination.
